Costumes

Well I am starting on the costumes today. My smallest little girl is going to be a lady bug, I am super excited this is her first halloween. I am hooking a tutu to a dress and she will wear a black onsie underneath, cute wings and antena clips. Now all I have to do is put all this cuteness together!! I bought all the supplies for the costumes at thehairbowcompany.com

Welcome back

Well it's been a while since I blogged on here. I have had a big change happen since last year. I had a beautiful baby girl. She is 8months old and crawling everywhere. I am also having a great breastfeeding journey with her. I might post about it every once in a while. My other daughter is 6 and in the 1st grade. I am amazed by her and her learning ability. She is learning to read and I love to listen to her read to her sister. My husband and I have been married for 2 yrs now and loved every second of it. We are still living in Hawaii and will be for the next year. My husband has picked up some new hobbies since living here. He loved to spearfish, day and night. He loves to bring home fish and shells that him and his friends get while in the water. Even though he is allergic to eating fish, people always think it's crazy that he fishes when he can't eat them. He just gives them away to people when i don't eat them. We'll my crafty side has come out lately and I started making bows, and crocheting fun things. Another fun thing I will post about in a few weeks is halloween costumes. I am making a lady bug and a monster high girl. I will also post some of the great hair stuff I made for my little ones. Well that's all for now....<3

Last few weeks

Well for the last weeks I have been nursing a hurt back, taking care of a bundle of kids and saying bye to my hubby. He had to go out for the military for the next month. I have a lot of projects I am wanting to do, so far I have 2 done. I made a t shirt rug for the laundry room and made shorts for Kaydence. I am working on curtains, bedspread and some clothes for me! Here are some pics!  The shorts were just pants the were to short, it was either get rid of them or turn them into cute summer clothes! All I did was cut them off the hem them, I did 2 with a regular hem and 1 with a upward folded hem. the last one I left with no hem. I also made my own applique out of some fabric of my daughter favorite skirt, that was to small! The rug was super easy, all I did was cut up old ratty t-shirts and weave them into a shirt with small holes cut in it! These were the easy things on y to do list! Now for the curtains!

Day 3

Describe your relationship with your parents.

Well to give you a little background on my family, I am the second of 4 kids...all girls! Poor dad! I grew up in Idaho in a few different houses, we lived most of my life out in the country with horses, pigs, chicken and dogs.

About my parents and me...we have an awesome relationship. My mom and I talk about every other day and we talk about everything. I am very grateful to my parents for all they have done for me. They have let me live with them when I was going through my divorce and wasn't on my feet yet. My dad and me have always been pretty close, I like to call myself the favorite child! We don't talk very often but when we do it is a very good talk. He worries about me cause I have issues with letting people walk all over me and he likes to watch out for me! Well that about all there is, I just want to tell me mom and dad that I love you guys!

So any encouragements are awesome! I have also been trying a few recipes. I am really liking this roll recipe. First time I have even made rolls....here is the recipe

Day 2

Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears

1. Something will happen to my daughter. Nothing ever has, but I always worry about her cause I read to much news and about all the bad stuff that is a possibility. I still check to make sure she is breathing when I check on her at night and she is 4

2.   Drowning, I have a fear of water but it doesn't stop me from swimming and loving the water but I get nervous when I cant touch and start to freak out and forget how to swim. I don't know where is came from it just happened one summer when I was about 10.

3. I have a fear that something bad will happen to my family and I wont be there to help them. I live really far away from my family and miss them a lot. we have a really close family. I know where this one comes from. I lived in Colorado and my dad had a heart attack scare and I lived to far to just be there in no time and I would hate if something happened and I could be there.

Yumminess

So I tried a bourbon chicken recipe a few days ago and keep forgetting to share it. I really love this bourbon chicken back in my home town. I haven't had any good Chinese food since moving here, so I have to resort to making it at home!
Bourbon chicken
 Ingredients
  • 2 lbs of chicken
  • 1tbs olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger
  • 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbs  Ketchup
  • 1 tbs cider vinegar
  •   1/2 cup water
Directions
Heat oil in skillet, add chicken, cook until lightly browned. Remove chicken. Add remaining ingredients and stir together over medium heat until well blended. Add chicken and bring to a hard boil, uncovered. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 min. I then served over white rice!

This is what the final product will look like!
